About the Rabbi
ABOUT OUR RABBI
Rabbi Simcha Hopkovitz, Mara D'Asra
Since assuming the pulpit of the Young Israel of Hewlett, Rabbi Simcha Hopkovitz has quickly made an impact for the good with his friendship, stirring drashos, and thought-provoking classes. A warm, dynamic, and inspirational leader, Rabbi Hopkovitz has fostered relationships throughout the community and made families feel welcome and at home at the Young Israel of Hewlett.
Rabbi Hopkovitz is a Yadin Yadin musmach of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchanan. He holds an M.A. degree from Touro College in Jewish History.
Rabbi Hopkovitz is the author of several books includingL Yismach Moshe, Ach Sameach and forthcoming multi-volume work of poetry.
He is current a faculty member of Yeshiva Darchei Torah High School in Far Rockaway.
Rebbitzen Sara Hopkovitz (nee Weiss) was born and raised in Far Rockaway. A graduate of Touro College, she earned a M.B.A. from Baruch College. She currently works as an accountant and enjoys setting up dating singles.
The Hopkovitzs are blessed with their 5 children, Devasha Leba, Leah Bracha, Shimmy, Mindel Tova, and Doniel.
