Shabbos Groups Programs

 

 
 
Youth Minyan
 
 
 
--Boys and Girls 6th grade and up; 9:15-11:15 
 
We are pleased to introduce Rabbi Jeremy Litton, who, in tandem with Yaakov Shlusselberg will lead the Minyan in full Shabbat morning Teffilah with Laining and Divrei Torah. 
The Minyan is open to all boys and girls; fathers who wish to daven with their children are welcome.  Those who attend will have a unique opportunity to learn how to actively daven.
The boys will be given opportunities to lain, receive aliyot and act as Gabbaim for the minyan.  There will be a weekly sponsored kiddush.
 
 
 
 
 
TOT SPOT
 
 
--Boys and Girls infant-2 yr. old; 9:45-11:15
 
9:45 am – 11:15 am: A place where mother’s can come with their infant- 2 year olds and relax…ok not relax…..but play with their children and be in Shul. There will be age appropriate toys and snack for the toddlers. There will also be a leader to supervise and assist with any matters that might arise. The Tot Spot is a program which will require parental supervision.
 
The playroom will be located downstairs in the shul within the nursery and pre-k room.
 
 
 Shabbos Groups Programs
 
  
--Boys and Girls “nursery- Pre K”; 9:30-11:15
9:30 am – 9:45 am: Drop off- Feel free to drop your child off in the main kiddush room. We ask that parents escort their younger children to groups. Children will be supervised while playing board games, and having a good time.
9:45am-10:40am - Free play time (puzzles, trucks, blocks, leggos..)
10:40am-10:50am- Cleanup Time
10:50am-11:05am- Kiddush, Snack and Story time (apple juice & cookies)
11:05am-11:20am- Shabbos Songs and circle games
11:20am- Parent Pick up- Please come to the group to pick up your child after services.
 
 
 
--Boys & Girls Separately K-1st; 9:30-11:15
9:30 am – 10:00 am: Drop off- Main kiddush room. Children will be supervised while playing board games, and having a good time.
10:00 am- 10:30 am: Davening. All kids will participate in a morning teffilah program. The program is tailored to kids of different ages and backgrounds.
10:30 am- 10:45 am: Snack. We will have Kiddush and Snacks for the kids.
10:45 am- 11:15 am: Games and Activities. A variety of creative group games and activities that entertain and educate.
 
 
 
 
--Boys & Girls 2nd - 5th Separately; 9:30-11:15
9:30 am – 10:00 am: Drop off- Main kiddush room. Children will be supervised while playing board games, and having a good time.
10:00 am- 10:30 am: Davening. All kids will participate in a more advanced morning teffilah program. The program is tailored to kids of different ages and backgrounds.
10:30 am- 10:45 am: Snack. We will have Kiddush and Snacks for the kids.
10:45 am- 11:15 am: Games and Activities. A variety of more advanced creative group games and activities that entertain and educate.
 
 
 
*Children will only be allowed to attend the group suitable for their age, with no exceptions.
 
Parental Expectations: To ensure the success of the youth program we ask that parents do their part by complying with the following expectations.
1) We ask that you register your children if you are using Young Israel of Hewlett services.
2) Your kids love you and will be distracted from the youth activities if you stop by and visit.
3) Please don’t ask your kids to come up and visit you during Shul.
4) Do not congregate with your children in the downstairs hallway, we are trying to keep that area clear.
5) Let your kids Daven with us in the mornings.
6) Don’t send your kids to groups with or drop off excessive snacks, unless you are going to sponsor for the entire group.
7) If your child is asked to leave groups, do not send them back down that week, please come talk to Yochai after services.
