Programs

Classes

Youth Groups are coordinated and organized by Jennifer and Menachem Hucul. Shabbat youth groups provide our children with free play as well as Parsha review and Davening from 9:30 to 11:30. Snacks and prizes are given weekly. Special weekend and evening events are offered monthly.

Sisterhood meetings are usually every other month although special events are planned monthly.

Chesed Cooking Program, coordinated by Sharon Garber, was developed to aid new mothers and families experiencing health difficulties. volunteers are always needed.

Laining Program. We are looking for volunteers to lain.  Please email us at lain@yihewlett.org.  You can lain a portion of a parsha and, if you cannot find partners on your own, we will be happy to assist you.  We will also arrange for someone to help you practice. See the Laining Sign-Up sheet on the front door of the Shul or HERE.

We also have a CD Laining Library to assist members practicing to lain Torah and Haftorah portions. Shul members should e-mail cd@yihewlett.org for more information.

This Library is available for sponsorship (a plaque will hang in our Shul) at a cost of just $36.00 per CD. A list of the CD's to sponsor can be found HERE. This would be a great way to commemorate a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

We hope that this Library will serve a benefit to all of our members and will encourage people to join the Laining "pool" and help with the weekly Torah Readings. We continue to look for volunteers to Lain and will split up the Parsha among several people.

Softball. Softball will take place every  Sunday at approx. 8:45 am at the Hewlett Elementary School on Broadway (across from the Dairy Barn). Everyone is welcome to join.

Bowling. Meet at the Woodmere Lanes every other Sunday morning at 10:30 AM.

E-Mail ListServ. We have launched a new e-mail ListServ.  Sign up to receive announcements by sending a blank e-mail to subscribe@yihewlett.org.  (More than one family member can sign up for e-mail and a person can get the e-mail on their home and/or office PC).  If you would like an announcement posted, please send an e-mail to listserv@yihewlett.org and a moderator will review the announcement prior to posting.
